Dave
is a senior loss prevention executive who has built
and managed teams of loss prevention specialists and
consistently produced shortage reductions and
increased safety awareness in retail stores and
distribution facilities. He works closely with store
operations, distribution, and human resources
functions to ensure the availability and delivery of
appropriate LP and safety training for all
associates.
Dave
has more than 20 years of loss prevention and safety
experience with accomplishments including:

Developing the loss prevention department for a recent
$1.2 billion retail IPO with 200 stores, reducing the LP
budget by $1 million while meeting a 1% shortage goal
and reducing the shortage in leased departments of other
retailers by 10% to 30%

Directing loss prevention for a $2.5 billion retail
holding company with more than 300 stores, 7 distribution
centers, and 3 corporate office facilities. Responsible
for an $8 million budget and more than 100 LP associates.
Reduced overall shrink by 1.29%

Introducing and directing safety awareness programs
reducing general liability accidents by 40% and
workers compensation accidents by 30%

Creating and developing investigative positions
identifying to identify and reduce fraud

Implementing a new POS software exception reporting
system and developing comprehensive loss prevention,
safety, and auditing programs and procedures
Dave
most recently served as Vice President of Loss Prevention for
DSW (Designer Shoe Warehouse). Previously he was VP of Loss
Prevention for Retail Ventures, Inc. (including Value City
Department Stores, DSW, and Filene’s Basement). Dave also
served as Regional and District Loss Prevention Manager
for Value City Department Stores and LP Manager for Gold
Circle Stores.
